Yep, I woke with my knees hurting.......naturally I assumed since I have arthritis that the problem lies with arthritis. Next, a few hours later, my knees and ankles started swelling. Like a beautiful bee sting, nice and soft and puffy. I couldn't get my damn shoes on! OK, now what is the cause of this? About 3 hours later my lower legs and feet and shoulders started aching. Like a really bad ache! So it is time to pop an extra pain pill and put my feet up. 3 days later I am still putting my feet up and popping an extra pain pill, without any success in the decreased edema dept or the pain. What the hell is causing this! I can't drive because I can't lift my arms and I can't wear shoes because my feet look like the over inflated Pillsbury Dough boy. And the ache, well it was terrible. Finally a visit to my poor doctor. On a good day with nothing wrong he doesn't know what to do with me, imagine a bad day with fat ankles. I get sent to the local imaging facility for a doppler test on my legs. Yep, just as I thought, no DVT (that is deep vein thrombosis) but I find out I have Baker's cyst in both knees. WHAT??? Who ever heard of Baker's cyst in knees?? I don't even like to make brownie mixes out of a box.........how do I get Bakers anything??? Thank goodness for a computer. I can put my Mericks on the shelf and look up the problem on a computer. Fluid filed cyst caused by trauma and other things. Well, now that helped a lot. What do I do about them. NOTHING until I return to see my doctor on Wed.
My question is.............what has baker's cyst got to do with achy shoulders? My shoulders are still painful and my knees are feeling better, until next time. I swear there is a conspiracy going on. I don't have a clue what the conspiracy is or what it is for but I'm sure it is going on. Of all the dumb diagnosis to have...................I feel that I am struggling a tad too hard to survive in this world. No one else I know has cyst in both knees and achy shoulders. I can't even wash my damn hair without crying.........Just not my idea of spending a beautiful few weeks learning to knit socks.
My life took a reprieve today. It was college football and I love college football. I can watch it from 9am until midnight. My feet swell whether I watch football of not. So I parked my butt on my chair with my Pilate ball to prop my feet up and watched football. Pretty good day and my ankles are only slightly puffy and my shoulders are only aching. Off to take another extra pain pill and read a dumb no brainer book.
